We have a rare vacancy to join our championship-winning team as “Head Truckie” looking after two Yamaha WorldSBK Race Trucks and working with us at race events throughout Europe. Previous European or World Championship motorsport experience in motorcycle or car racing is preferred. Based at Crescent Yamaha – Verwood, UK – starting November 2023.

Qualifications and Key Requirements
- Full, valid HGV CPC qualifications with a clean driving record
- Experience in the motorsport industry (motorcycle, car racing or other)
- Knowledge and understanding of transportation operating requirements, rules and legislation

Full Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a truck driver moving high-value assets
- Physical fitness and stamina to load and unload race bikes and equipment
- Experience in dealing with carnets and customs clearance requirements post-Brexit
- Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws within Europe
- Strong organisational skills and ability to plan and prioritise effectively
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and weekends at race events and tests
- Basic mechanical knowledge to handle minor repairs and maintenance
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a close-knit team
- Excellent forward-planning skills and ability to problem solve in pressured situations

Responsibilities
- Manage the logistics for two Race Transporters including maintenance schedules, improvements, routes and travel schedules and all vehicle legalities
- Lead driver for race transportation, ensuring both trucks safely and timely transport race bikes, spare parts and equipment to and from Crescent in the UK or Yamaha R&D Motor Europe in Italy to race circuits as required by the WorldSBK race calendar and team test schedule
- Adhere to relevant traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Keep meticulous records of tachographs, mileage, fuel consumption and maintenance
- Manage the loading and unloading of race bikes and equipment to prevent damage during transport, whilst also adhering to loading weight restrictions
- Maintain a clean and organised truck, ensuring that all equipment is stored safely and that trucks are presented in the best condition at race circuits
- General HQ-based operations assistance helping to maintain and make improvements to team equipment, working with local and international suppliers
- At race events, responsibilities include ensuring high-quality team presentation at all times across race transporters, race equipment and all working areas – in addition to providing support to the Operations Manager
